A Southern-Bred Soulful Singer-Songwriter with convoluted Acoustic Guitar stylings and a contemporary flair for melodic tunes. Few artists can take rock, alternative, and pop and mix them all into a new sound, but Jody Aaron does it well. He has taken his folk roots, and his love for Pop melodies, and Alternative music, and created his own unique sound which he self-brand's as "Pop-Rock for your Soul". His songs evoke universal emotions of love, hate, hurt, loneliness, and self-struggle while addressing today's world issues.

Raised near the white sands of Clearwater, Florida, Jody's natural surroundings helped shape his relaxed, and honest sound. Growing up only an hour from DisneyWorld, Jody's imagination has been stretched with no limitations. He has been writing music since he was 14, when he realized that songwriting was the most effective way to express his thoughts.

Jody released his first self-titled EP in 2002, recorded with Atlanta Rock Band, Y.O.U.

In 2003, Jody won first place in CNN's International Talent Search, landing him high acclaim from viewers, and $12,000, which he used to relocate to New York City to continue pursuit of his dream.

This also led to being invited to CNN's Aaron Brown Newsnight to perform "The Prompter Song" in front of a national television audience.

To kick off CNN Search 2004, Jody was brought in as the opening act in what CNN called "The Jody Friedman Experience".

Hailing from the coastal town of Clearwater, Florida and raised along The Gulf of Mexico's white sands -- Jody's natural surroundings helped shape his relaxed, and honest sound.

Growing up only an hour from DisneyWorld and Universal, his imagination has been stretched with no limitations. His father, from rock n' roll capital, Cleveland, Ohio; raised him on the music of legendary singer-songwriters like Harry Chapin, Simon and Garfunkel, and CSNY. Jody would soon find musicians of his time that emulated their folk-roots sound; musicians like Dave Matthews Band, Indigo Girls, Shawn Mullins, and Sarah Mclachlan would become icons in Jody's world.


In 2004, Jody's single, "All I Wanted" from his indie release "est. 1980" was featured as "Song of the Day" on Garageband.com The song was given this honor after receiving outstanding reviews from other indie artists. 2004 brought more success for Jody when his song, "World Is Fallin'" was chosen as a finalist by VH-1's Song Of The Year International Song Competition.

2005 kicked off with Jody's CD release, "est. 1980" - recorded with Producer, Matthew Chiaravalle in his East Village apartment (Josh Joplin Group, Jeffrey Gaines). The CD is available on CDBaby, ITunes Music Store, Amazon.com, Target.com, and Best Buy. "est. 1980" is currently receiving domestic and international airplay

In July, 2005, Jody expanded into new territory, and licensed his music for thematic use CNN's Nancy Grace Legal Show and has established a name for himself in the music community. Since then, he has been commissioned to write the orchestral score for an independent film entitled, "BloodShot", and a commercial for .

In November, 2005, Jody was chosen to be the featured artist in
Alternative Addiction Magazine. In December, 2005, Jody was chosen to be featured on Los Angeles Indie Artist of the Month's December Compilation CD.

As 2005 came to a finish with Jody's single, "All I Wanted" hitting college radio stations throughout the U.S, 2006 began with one of Jody's songs being featured on a DVD entitled, "Steps to Stardom: How to Make it in the Music Industry".

Jody has been seen playing major venues around the U.S. - The Tabernacle in Atlanta, Arlene's Grocery, The Knitting Factory, Baggot Inn, and The Sidewalk Café in New York City, The Watershed in Asheville, North Carolina, and in Century City, Los Angeles to name a few. He has shared the stage with New York artists such as Granian , Joanie Leeds , Josie Crosby , and Atlanta Rock Band, Y-O-U.

Jody's single, "All I Wanted" is currently hitting college radio stations throughout the U.S. as is the accompanied music video shot in New York City and directed by Esteban Escobar(Guster).

In May, 2006, Jody, his wife, and dog decided it was time for a change of scenery, and moved from NYC to the West Coast. He is now focusing on putting a band together, gigging locally in and around Orange County, California.
